Step 9 of 11 in getting ready to return to work:
While off work, some cancer survivors can lose work conditioning and their work habits. Whether or not they have had treatment, experiencing fatigue is common after initially returning to work. Timely work-focused advice on fatigue, sleep and symptom management can help cancer survivors transition back to work. Healthcare providers can encourage survivors to consider and practice their work routines such as restructuring their wake times to their work schedule, attempting (if safe) work simulation, and preparing for commuting times. You can encourage survivors to discuss with friends and family members about the new time and potential energy constraints they may experience when they start their return to work and how they can be supported.
