Did you know: Studies show that 63.5% of cancer survivors return to work but one in five are likely to experience cancer-related health impairments affecting their work ability. Learn how the role of primary care can address the impacts of cancer and treatment on a survivor’s ability to work and support timely return to work using practical tools and resources.

The development of the course was led by Maureen Parkinson, M.Ed. C.C.R. C – Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor, BC Cancer and Christine Maheu, R.N., Ph.D., Associate Professor Ingram School of Nursing, McGill University as part of their collaboration on Cancer and Work, adapted by the design team, UBC Continuing Professional Development and funded by the Canadian Partnership against Cancer and Health Canada.

NEW STUDY PROJECT November 2020: Looking for a family physician from a rural or remote area of Canada to advise on the development of an e-course for primary health care providers on  supporting return to work, maintaining work, and mental health of cancer survivors.

The advisory group member will be called on to inform the content selection to meet the criteria for continuing education credits for Manpro+ for physicians, identify and assist in promoting recruiting for the needs analysis, and participation in the course.

The commitment will be 7 hours of work paid at $100 per hour.
